Red and green Laser Pointer for your presentation

Laser Pointer are perfect tools for all kind of presentations. The spot of a laserpointer is much better visible as the old days white light pointer. Laser pointer are easy to handle and reasonable priced.

Sicherheits Logo The spot of a 635nm pointer is approximately 7 times better visible (provided they all have the same output power) than the spot of a 670nm pointer and 3 times better than a 650nm pointer. The bad thing: diodes and therefore also pointers using that diode with shorter wavelength (635nm) are more expensive. We feel, pointer with a wavelength of 650nm are a reasonable compromise and suitable for almost everybody. All our "red" pointer belong to the laser safety class II and are considered to be safe, if you do not stare into the beam.

"Green" laser pointer are much more expensive than the "red" ones, because they do not only contain a diode laser, but also a cristal for frequency doubling. On the other hand, at 532nm the spectral sensitivity of the human eye is some orders higher, i.e. provided both have the same output power, a "green" pointer is up to 13 times better visible than the 670nm companion.

The beam quality of a pure diode laser is very poor: The emitted beam diverges in X- and Y-axis differently (several degrees) and would not be suitable for an application such as a pointer. Therefore, all pointer are equipped with an additional collimator to reduce the divergence and make them almost equal in X and Y direction. Available are collimators made from acryl (plastic) and glass. Acryl collimators are cheaper, glass collimator have a better life time.
